Experienced Bee Exterminators

Most bees are generally gentle creatures that play a critical role in our ecosystems as pollinators. However, these stinging insects will also defend their hive when threatened which can inadvertently pose a threat to the safety of you and your family. They will use their stingers to protect themselves and their hives which generally cause some pain and discomfort but can also be deadly if there is an allergic reaction that is not treated in time. This is due to the small amount of bee venom that is injected when stung. The other problem that bees cause is sometimes they will swarm indoors and build a hive somewhere like a wall cavity, chimney, or attic. Not only does this have the potential to cause structural damage, but the hive will also fill with honey which is a sugary attractant for other bugs.

At EcoGuard Pest Management our maintenance program will ensure that your home is bee free all year long. We are experienced and knowledgeable in all forms of bee treatment & removal methods. EcoGuard utilizes an integrated pest management (IPM) approach and has over 40 years of combined experience providing bee control services. If a bee infestation has occurred, it is important that an experienced pest control technician finds and removes the hive to prevent the bees from returning.

EcoGuard offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee for all our customers and we stand by our promise to eliminate your bee problem. That bee pest control guarantee comes with every service and if the bees come back, then so do we, at no additional cost. We are standing by to give you a free estimate and to help you set your first bee pest control service appointment. Give us a call today!

Bee Information

Most bee species that we are familiar with are social insects with a structured caste system that involves a queen, female workers, and male drones. The queen will live for up to 5 years and will lay eggs for her entire life. Every bee in a colony will follow the queen, which is why when we relocate a beehive, it is important to identify and safely remove the queen so the rest of the colony follows. The male drones exist to fertilize the eggs before they die while the female workers do all of the other tasks necessary for the hive to thrive. This generally includes foraging for food, taking care of the young, and protecting the hive.

As pollinators, bees play a critical role in the survival of plant life. Female bees have bristles on their legs that capture pollen and then distribute that seed to fertile plants that are ready to fruit as they move from plant to plant. The pollen is also returned to the colony as a source of food which helps keep the queen and larvae fed. As colonies grow too large to sustain, a new queen will emerge and take a portion of the workers, called a swarm to create a new hive. Bees are generally docile while swarming but if you see signs of a swarm close to your home, it is likely a sign that you have a new bee colony taking form.

Bee Treatment

EcoGuard Pest Management is a leader in bee control methodology & service.

EcoGuard Pest Management uses methods of extraction and removal that are least likely to damage or hurt an active bee colony due to the role they play in our ecosystems. Only in the worst circumstances will we utilize extermination methods that utilize products designed to kill the bees on contact. When we do, all of our pesticides are all natural and safe for the environment.

At EcoGuard Pest Management we are experienced and knowledgeable with all types of bee control.  Being a local company, we are aware of the bees you may have issues with based on your location.  Our experienced pest control technicians will control them for you and keep your home free of pests. Every time we treat your property, we will inspect harborage areas for activity and treat the home to keep all bee issues under control. If you have bees invading your home call EcoGuard today!
Inspection
It all starts with an inspection of your home and surrounding areas to identify bee activity. We also look for signs of an active beehive to determine how severe the problem is.

Bee Exclusion
To prevent entry, cracks and openings that are exposed should be sealed anywhere there that could provide bee access.

Beehive Removal
The only way to effectively eliminate a bee problem without killing them is to remove the hive and relocate the queen. This is a difficult process that should be done at night or early morning when the entire colony is there.

Live Bee Removal
If a swarm has decided that they want to stay in an area where they are unwelcome, but have not had time to create a hive, then live bee swarm removal is necessary. This is when the queen is found and relocated so the rest of the colony follows.

Bee Extermination
In the worst circumstances where honeybee removal services are not a viable option, bee extermination using ecofriendly pesticides is the best bet to control bee populations.

Scout Bee Treatment
If a swarm has not found its way to your home but you are noticing bees, then there is a chance that scouts are searching for potential hive locations. Exterior sprays should deter these scouts by killing them off and preventing a full colony from taking hold.

Bee FAQs

  • Can pest control get rid of bees?

EcoGuard Pest Control will use several strategies to remove a bee problem from your home or business. If there is an active hive, then a beekeeper will need to assist with relocating the queen and the rest of the colony. If there are just a few scouts searching for a new home, then exterior treatment should be effective.

  • What do exterminators use for bees?

Bee exterminators do their best to relocate bees since they are integral to most ecosystems but in the event that bees need to be exterminated, EcoGuard uses low toxicity ecofriendly pesticides.

  • Is it illegal for exterminators to kill bees?

It is not illegal to kill wild honeybees but relocating them is a much more preferred method of bee control.

  • Do bees come back after bee removal?

Bees that are not present when a colony is relocated will return to the area, they believe the queen is. These often-become straggler bees that get left behind which is why we recommend beehive removal during the early morning or late at night when the entire colony is likely to be present.
